For over a decade, WhoisXMLAPI has been gathering, analyzing, and correlating domain, IP, and DNS data to make the Internet more transparent and secure. Brandma is the first corporate domain registrar in China, providing a SaaS platform for brand protection and digital asset management services. Brandma received a wild success and positive recognition among the brand owners, and was the default choice of domain name registration / management solutions for Chinese brands such as Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu, Sina, Weibo, ICBC, Haier, Midea, BYD, Xiaomi. Brandma also worked as a local business partner for international brands such as Apple, Google, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, HSBC, Adidas, Sony, Verisign, etc.

Cross-Community Working Group on ICANN's New gTLD Auction Proceeds, an USD 212 Million fund generated by the ICANN New gTLD program (auctions of TLDs). The WG provided sets of community-driven recommendations to the ICANN Board on how the fund should be governed and dispensed.

I was elected by the ICANN Nominating Committee (NomCom) to serve the Council of country code Name Supporting Organization (ccNSO) for a 3-year term. I was the first Asian to have served in both GNSO and ccNSO in ICANN Org.

I was elected by the ICANN gTLD Registry Stakeholder Group (RySG) and served as a voting Councilor for the Contracted Party House in ICANN GNSO (Generic Names Support Organization) Council for two consecutive terms. During my tenure I greatly involved multiple IDN, Whois, and New gTLD related PDPs -- which eventually led to the opening of the 2012-round of gTLD application window and attracted 1,268 applicants.

Asia Pacific Networking Group (APNG) is one of the earliest Internet organization in the region dedicated to the advancement of networking infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region. It also organized Asia Pacific Next Generation Camp (www.apngcamp.asia) to recruit and empower young researchers and entrepreneurs. I worked closely side-by-side with Internet Hall of Fame inductees such as Kilnam Choon, Xing Lee, Jun Murai, Kanchanna Kanchannasut, as well as pioneers in the region such as Paul Wilson, Tommy Matsumoto, etc. to develop educational and capacity-building programs in the following areas: - Learning its history in each country and experience from seniors;- Sharing information among community;- Empowering Next Generation (APNG) activity through APNG Camps;- Providing a venue and opportunity of discussion for developing countries; and- Challenging to create new Internet growth opportunity.

DotAsia is the registry operator for ".ASIA" top level extension. I was elected as the Director of the Board after retiring from my previous VP role in the organization.

A VC fund backed up by MediaTek focusing on mid/late stages of web2.0 mobile Internet start-ups in China. Notable investment / exits included NetQin, Qihoo 360, AdSame, TECNO, etc.

".ASIA" DotAsia Org. is a community-based Top-Level Domain registry operator. I participated the early formation process as a volunteer while I still worked for TWNIC. Eventually DotAsia recruited me as its founding VP and managed government and ccTLD relations as well as channel partners in APAC. To build the .asia brand and global recognition, I frequently travelled in the region and participated public and private events to help gain popularity and acceptance of this regional virtual identity. By far .asia has been recognized as one of the most successful TLD launch in the industry, and was reached over half-million registration during my tenure.

Cibernet is a GSM roaming data and billing clearinghouse. I managed its Asia Pac businesses and met frequently with mobile operators and regulators in the region. The company was later acquired by MACH.

Taipei

I was recruited as a researcher and eventually promoted to be in charge of TWNIC (.tw ccTLD) international cooperations and public relations. During my tenure I helped establish multiple MoUs with global ccTLD partners, and helped .tw signing the ccTLD agreement with ICANN. I was also involved in numerous IPv6, ENUM, and IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) projects at early stage. I was later appointed as the project manager of national IPv6 Program sponsored by the Taiwan government grant. I also worked closely with ISPs, Telcos, CERTs in the APAC region for outreach and capacity building activities.

New York

I was Register.com's first Asia Pac sales staff, and helped build and manage RCOM's reseller network in Asia Pacific (mostly in China, S. Korea, Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong). The network grew from zero to hundreds of resellers during my tenure. I was also involved in the corporate services and helped manage ccTLD relations for the company.
