Enthusiastic and capable Engineering, Design and Development resource. Everything from napkin sketches, to prototypes and model building, FEA analysis of 3D models, to engineering documentation and vendor interfacing, DFA and DFM, I can and have done it all. I have designed 30-ton steel structures and 10 gram parts for 3D printing. I take pride in my work, never afraid to get hands-on with a project, and my overarching passion for making people's lives safer and easier, with engineering solutions that are robust, cheap, easy to manufacture and assemble. Complementary to my Mechanical Engineering degree, my hard skills include:2D and 3D Drafting, Design and Engineering (AutoDesk Inventor, Solidworks, AutoCAD) - 10+ Years of experience, 8 as a professional. For 3D, I have designed, revised and improved assemblies consisting of hundreds of parts, creating BOM's, part drawings & geometric tolerances, parametric parts, and documentation; assembly drawings, manual infographics, and weldment drawings. I also design my own models and miniatures as a hobby and supplemental income, creating complex novel multi-part scale vehicles for 3D printing. For 2D, I am very comfortable with AutoCAD and consider myself a highly skilled user. Also have translated/adapted foreign drawings for US fabrication.Finite Element Analysis and Simulation Design - Hand in hand with 3D design, I am adept with FEA software packages like those included in Inventor primarily, but also some Solidworks and ANSYS. I understand how to design a test environment, boundary and load conditions, material and mesh properties, and how to interpret analysis results.Rapid Manufacturing - familiar with FDM/FFF and SLA 3D printers, design for rapid manufacturing and 3D printing, laser and plasma cutters. Excel/Word/Outlook/Powerpoint - I use excel in my daily workflow for project management, "book-keeping", engineering analysis. Comfortable up to the level of simple VBA and macros. Electronics and Programming - familiar with Arduino ( C++) at a hobbyist level, primarily for prototypes. I am comfortable with median-level DC circuit design and PCB Layout.
