Rail Supervisor
CurrentResponsible for the adherence to schedules and proper train operations. Directs, receives, documents and reports all systems problems, equipment malfunctions and emergencies to quickly and efficiently resolve situations with the appropriate resources and personnel, both internal and external. Initiates immediate alternative methods of operation during abnormal conditions.Performs work that affects revenue operations to a substantial degree. Responsible for interpreting and implementing management policies and established procedures regarding best rail operations practices. Oversees the day-to-day activities for mainline and /or yard operations, operator performance, rail on-time performance (OTP), service delays and disruptions and facility concerns. Maintains accurate documentation and investigates customer complaints. Coordinates with LRT Vehicle Maintenance to ensure that trains are available to maintain uninterrupted revenue service at all times. Coordinates employees that work within the rail right-of-way including ensuring that the employees that report to work are properly prepared and fit for duty. This include being responsible for the enforcement of rules compliance and fitness for duty by way of reasonable suspicion evaluation and accident and incident investigations. Identifies problems which cause interruptions to revenue service. Takes corrective measures to reduce/solve any problems or concerns. Takes corrective action to solve minor problems associated with support facilities, including escalators and rail elevators and reports all discrepancies to the Rail Operations Center (RCC). Daily performs work that greatly affects the safe and efficient operation of light rail revenue service and its customers. Work is characterized by high mental concentration, multi-tasking and close supervision at all times.
