My practice focuses on construction and major projects across the MENA Region advising clients in both non-contentious and contentious matters. I have over 12 years experience in Dubai in both private practice and in house roles. I have extensive experience working with the FIDIC suite of contracts and consultancy agreements. I have also conducted a number of arbitrations in the MENA Region as well as appearing in the DIFC Courts as a Part II Registered Practitioner.

I am a registered Australian lawyer with excellent qualifications, with over 10 years experience in Dubai. I have a strong in-house, construction and real estate, commercial and dispute resolution experience.I am currently working with Damac Properties as Assistant Vice President - Legal. Prior to joining Damac I was with Kennedys and DLA Piper Middle East LLP as a Legal Consultant in Dubai. My practice involves a broad and diverse range of legal and compliance issues. My day to day activities involve advising and assisting the various business units within the Damac Group of companies in commercial, construction, real estate and dispute resolution matters. Some of the major projects I have worked on in Dubai are:UAE Real Estate Developments (Acting for numerous major developers throughout the UAE in relation to purchaser claims). The value of the amounts in dispute is in excess of AED 200 million. Outcome - project ongoing.UAE - acted for developer in relation to terminating a contract for AED 1 billion and claims involving power substations for AED 300 million. Outcome - successfully settled.UAE - acted for major developer in claims worth AED 50 million against the Contractor for defects in its design. Outcome - matter is ongoing.UAE - acted for major developer in claims against the Contractor (multi jurisdiction litigation in relation to contractor's extensions of time claims, construction delay claims, termination and calling on security bonds). Outcome - successfully settled.Acted for the employer in relation to dredging contract dispute in Dubai. Outcome - successfully settled. The contract value in dispute was in excess of AED 4 billion.

My practice at DLA Phillips Fox largely focused on commercial dispute resolution. My areas of expertise included: construction and major projects; arbitration and alternative dispute resolution; and court based litigation.
