Professor of Criminal Justice & Law EnforcementBiography:I was a fully academy trained Police Officer and Deputy Sheriff who patrolled Kenmore Square, Allston/Brighton, and Brookline, as well as walked the tiers of two maximum security adult and juvenile penitentiaries. I have over twenty-five weeks of academy training run by the Massachusetts State Police and the Suffolk County Sheriff, which included felony arrest, booking, and security in cell blocks and hospital details. In the prison system I laterally transferred to the role of social service officer providing assistance to inmates regarding court dates, programs "in and out" the prison walls for recovery, and advising him/her of options for their defense counsel. Additionally, my role included offering inmate education programs, drug and alcohol theories, and sexual assault. My certifications include: Domestic Violence/Suicide Prevention, and Restorative Justice. I am now employed as an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Massasoit Community College, and finished my 11th year full time and 3+ years adjunct, amounting to 15 years of college instruction at the end of 2024. During years 2009 - 2024, I've taught 3,000+ CJ students including some already in the field, and many combat veterans. With my masters degree and as a practitioner, I teach not only law, criminal procedure, police, and correction officer courses, proper use of LE power but my experiences to deal with crime, possible unruly suspects, and how to do so professionally but also from working calls or walking tiers. As a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator/Officer I monitor Moderna Pharmaceutical's locations in Norwood, Cambridge, Canton, & Burlington MA, Bethesda MD, Princeton NJ, Seattle WA, Warsaw Poland, Madrid Spain, & the UK. My post includes: Alarm Monitoring, Genetec, Kaseware, Everbridge, Envoy, Service Now, & other high value "site security" protection systems.
