About Chris Eisele

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations and flight test subject matter expert, passionate about bringing forward the aviation eco-systems that will enable us to realize the benefits of safe and routine UAS operations in our every-day lives. He is a member of the Boeing enterprise Product & Services Safety team and works across Boeing to align safety, security and regulatory strategies in areas related to autonomy. Prior to his current role, Chris has been a software developer and systems administrator for proprietary networks and has been engaged in the UAS domain with Boeing for over 17 years beginning with the initial deployment of the Insitu ScanEagle UAS to Iraq in 2004. Over this period, Chris developed a UAS operator training curriculum and led customer training in operations, maintenance, and deployment of the UAS while continuing to establish and support operational sites globally. In 2009, Chris transitioned into Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) flight test where he spent nine (9) years applying his operational experience in support of Boeing UAS research and development programs. As a Test & Evaluation lead for UAS, Chris supported the success of engineering teams across Boeing in efficiently navigating both internal and external flight approval processes, including NASA, AFRL, USN, and others. His leadership as a flight test conductor supported many successful first flights of both fixed-wing and rotorcraft UAS across all size and complexity levels: small man-packable, to airborne and water-launched, to large High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS) platforms. Following his time with BT&E, Chris joined the Boeing NeXt organization as certification lead for a Boeing / Disney collaboration to develop a large, electric-vertical takeoff and landing (E-VTOL) UAS as a palette for airborne entertainment. In this role, Chris led the FAA coordination for airworthiness certificates, waivers, and operational approvals that culminated in the successful exhibition flights of “X-Wings” at Disney Hollywood Studios, Florida in 2019.Chris has a bachelor’s degree in Computational mathematics and is an FAA instrument rated pilot.
