I have experience in the area of patent prosecution including basic prosecution issues as well as patent infringement and validity issues. I gained legal expertise at two AMLAW 100 law firms. My professional background includes computer and network consulting, management of software companies, and university-affiliated intellectual property protection. Prior to becoming an attorney, I administered the computer and network systems at small and mid-sized companies in the Golden Triangle Region of North Mississippi. In addition, I managed two small companies in Mississippi. One company, Zeta Technologies Incorporated, offered computer and network consulting, Internet service and support, and custom software programming. The other company, Sideshow Software, Inc., developed and marketed a Web server module to decrease the size of Web pages.I also served in the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing at Mississippi State University. While there, I prepared a wide variety of inventions for the patent application process and was a member of the team that sought out licenses for university technology. The inventions that I worked on at the technology licensing office ranged from a way to decrease "off" flavor in catfish to insect resistance management for cotton.
