This posed a consumer electrical safety risk since existing accessories were not designed for this requirement. I led a project to analyse the intended powered attachments and assess the cost of re-tooling parts to comply with safety standards.• Cross-team collaboration with compliance and electronics teams to interpret standards and identify creepage and clearance risks.• Quantified cost impact due to design and material changes where required.• Created work packages to perform electrical safety testing on identified risk areas. • Reported to business and project stakeholders this alternative solution to costly design changes.By demonstrating that at-risk areas could pass electrical safety testing with a sufficient safety margin, I successfully eliminated the need for costly re-tooling. This not only minimized project expenses but also enhanced accessory quality by addressing and resolving tolerance issues simultaneously.
