As Chair of Steiner Education Australia, I have lead the fastest growing schooling movement in Australia with over 50 schools nationally (approx. 10,000 students) and many associate members. Reporting to members, consultation, development, implementation and review of strategic plans, chairing meetings, setting agendas, presenting at conferences, recruitment and support and review of the CEO are central to the role. My role is to build capacity, promote excellence and support the development of future leadership. I was also responsible for strategic and operational planning and delivery at the Birali Steiner School (2014-2021) which is committed to the holistic development of our learners, staff and community. My experience in developing a school wide governance system and embedding a continuous improvement culture was critical to the school's outcomes and is demonstrated through the results that were delivered in all areas including academic excellence and effective management systems and strategies. For me it was a privilege to lead a highly successful team and collaborate with others on achieving outstanding results in taking the school from 14 students in the Beachmere Community Hall to over 100 students with eight classrooms and infrastructure on a beautiful 26 acre greenfield site requiring negotiation with local council, main roads, town planners and consultants.My focus is now on supporting teachers and schools through coaching and mentoring while extending my skills in governance and leadership.
