Operations Manager
Current• Responsible for staff adherence to all U.S. Coast Guard, federal regulations, Massachusetts General laws and Boston Harbor Cruises policies while safely transporting over 2 million passengers annually and operating 21 vessels in and out of Long Wharf Pier. • Coordinate with five departments, daily logistics for 264 scheduled weekday morning departures onboard 21 commuter, excursion and charter vessels in and out of Long Wharf to various locations including Boston Harbor, Provincetown, and Stellwagen Bank in Massachusetts Bay. • Company representative to the U.S. Coast Guard for all federal safety and security requirements, DOT drug testing, and annual Coast Guard inspections for all Boston Harbor Cruises facilities, personnel and vessels in and out of Long Wharf. • Manage all purchasing, procurement, and distribution of deck materials to support the Long Wharf excursion division, with an annual budget, including staff, of over $1,000,000.• Develop a highly successful seasonal excursion division from April 1 thru November 30. Reestablish a quality work force and maintain all excursion vessels for private charters throughout the year. Support the division through preventive maintenance and continuous upkeep.• Interview, hire, and supervise all Long Wharf personnel. Generate weekly day and evening Captain, Crew, Dock, Concierge and Galley schedules for up to 150 employees. Create, conduct, and communicate all annual reviews to full time staff. Evaluate salaries and set compensation rates.• Maintain a high level of customer service by directly training staff to be courteous, friendly and polite while interacting with the public. Train staff to ensure all facilities and vessels are kept safe and clean. Consistently deliver a quality product to all clients that are of exceptional value.
