For the most part I have worked predominantly on validating the implementation of model changes and the subsequent data sets generated by colleagues and contractors from across the group and modifying them into a compatible format for use with the code used to generate the Capital and Impairment report. I then compile the report in preparation for release. Furthermore I am leading a project to develop the standardisation of data sets from legacy codes and develop improvements in the code used to generate the Capital and Impairment reports to make it more robust and efficient.As part of my development I have attended the “Building Better Scorecards” and “Basel Models and Validation” held by Scoreplus.

In my role I helped produce the impairment figures for the HBOS mortgage portfolio. This was achieved using the models built using the SAS program. I also had to maintain these models to keep them within Basel model regulations. As I was part of the team who was responsible for producing the calibrations for the group’s mortgage portfolio, I had regular contact with a variety of stakeholders from different disciplines and dealing with many ad hoc queries.
