Present the Navy story to audiences in the Navy and to the rest of the world through a variety of media. Write and produce print and broadcast journalism news and feature stories for military and civilian newspapers, magazines, television and radio broadcast stations. Record still and video photography of military operations, exercises, and other Navy events.

Conduct outreach to employers and business associations and engage in advocacy efforts with hiring executives to increase employment opportunities for veterans and encourage the hiring of disabled veterans. Advise stakeholders on diversity, sourcing, and other Veteran workforce initiatives.

Conduct employer outreach activities to advocate for veterans looking for new job opportunities. Create new hiring events and job fairs to link veterans and other job seekers to in-demand employers. Performs a vital role on the Business Services Team including promoting the hiring of veterans, working with federal contractors, promoting consolidated business grants to employers, educating employers on individuals targeted for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program, and promoting the Federal Bonding program.

Acted in dual leadership roles as a Civil Affairs (CA) Sergeant and Team Sergeant while deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom for twelve months. Supervised and planned the activities and missions of a four-man CA Direct Support Team attached to the 4th Infantry Division in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. As a Project Manager, coordinated over forty small- and large-scale development projects totaling over 1.2 million dollars and affecting approximately 7,500 Afghan citizens of the Kandahar Province.Conducted weekly engagements and meetings with Afghan citizens, government officials, and local project contractors. Qualified and continually trained on various tactical and communications equipment platforms to ensure preparedness for future deployments in the civil military operations community.
