Chris joined TPS in 2013 and has over a decade of experience working in Washington on a wide array of policy topics including healthchare, health information technology, food safety, tax & trade, and the federal appropriations process, among others. Chris primarily assists clients in the development of legislative initiatives, political strategy, outreach, and advocacy before Congress and federal agencies. Additionally, Chris assists client goals by monitoring and evaluating legislation, regulations, and grants put forth by the U.S. Congress and federal agencies and providing in-depth policy analysis.Since joining the firm, Chris has worked with Fortune 500 companies, institutions of higher education, multinational corporations, nonprofits, agricultural groups, trade associations and others, covering a broad variety of policy issues. Prior to joining Troutman, Chris gained experience in government relations on and off Capitol Hill. Chris served as a Legal Research Assistant in the government affairs group at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, focusing on agricultural and international trade issues. Chris also spent time in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) working as a Research Assistant covering banking and housing issues. Chris graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in political science.
