As an attorney, I consider myself first and foremost a service professional. When I walk into a courtroom prepped for battle or a conference room to negotiate a settlement, my goal is to achieve the best possible result for my client. When an individual or executive seeks my advice, I first learn their business needs and strategic goals and offer the available options – along with a recommendation for the best course of action. I did not become a lawyer to emulate Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men or Sam Waterston on Law & Order (although I’ve had a few of those moments over the years!). I did it to help people and businesses handle their legal concerns. I deeply understand the stress inherent in being named in a lawsuit, which is why I communicate regularly with my clients to keep them informed of all decisions and developments. I’m the lawyer but it is their case. My job is to serve their interests as skillfully as possible to accomplish their business needs and objectives. Their needs are 24/7, so my work schedule is too. I’m sitting in the foxhole right next to them. If they have a question or concern, I want to know about it immediately. We have built an extraordinarily strong team at Roetzel, throughout Ohio and the Midwest, who fully embrace the rigors of this dynamic practice. We defend lawsuits, advise on regulatory compliance, draft and revise contracts, handle emergency-response investigations, and help our clients manage whatever challenges come their way.
