Responsible for all aspects of information technology, including technical operations, software development, project management and business intelligence. • Developed and deployed a custom, next generation e-commerce web platform to replace eBags’ legacy web platform. Oversaw all facets of the architectural definition and development of the new platform. Created a platform level A/B test capability that allowed the new platform to be incrementally rolled out and measured against the old platform, significantly mitigating risk to the business.• Implemented dozens of front end, back end, and third party integration software development projects. Scaled development in line with business growth from two internal development teams to four internal teams and one external team. Leveraged Scrum and other agile methodologies to optimize development efficiency.• Established a robust business intelligence capability that transformed the day to day management and decision making processes of eBags. Solutions included a sales and business reporting portal, highly targeted OLAP cubes delivered through Excel for use in online marketing and merchandising optimization, and web log sourced web analytics capabilities infused throughout the BI platform. • Oversaw the deployment and technical operation of retail partnerships, including Amazon.com, Amazon FBA, Walmart.com, eBay and several others. Used a variety of integration models including web services, batch file integrations, and hosted micro-sites. • Lead participant in the migration to a multi-location 3PL provider to handle fulfillment of owned inventory. Introduced a real-time inventory management solution for owned inventory as well as drop ship inventory from over 500 drop ship suppliers representing more than 70% of sales, to achieve a target backorder cancellation metric of 0.25%.

Held numerous positions through the evolution of this Denver startup e-commerce company from a small online retailer in 1999 to a public $100M+ multi-channel retailer. The company filed for bankruptcy protection and sold its assets to ToysRUs and other acquirers in early 2009. Responsible for all aspects of information technology development and operations, as well as project management, product development, business intelligence and business operations. Key participant in the evaluation and execution of new business ventures.• Led the detailed planning and execution of numerous infrastructure projects related to the separation from KB Toys.• Led the detailed planning and implementation of the My Twinn business following its acquisition.• Key participant in the evaluation and strategic planning of the merger/acquisition of Baby Universe, a public company, resulting in the creation of The Parent Company. Led the rapid migration and data conversion of two key Baby Universe e-commerce businesses onto the eToys Direct technology and fulfillment platforms. Conversion was achieved one business day after the completion of the merger. • Led SOX compliance efforts and related process changes for the IT group and participated in financial compliance efforts. • Managed core IT team in Denver, CO as well as line of business IT teams in Richmond, VA and West Palm Beach, FL.• Managed the website product development team with responsibility for five e-commerce sites. • Oversaw all IT and critical business projects. Played key project oversight roles on the most mission critical of those projects. • Oversaw multiple upgrades of key packaged systems including Oracle Applications, Manhattan Associates PkMS, Oracle DBMS and Endeca.

Several additional retail partners were subsequently deployed, including Buy.com, QVC and Amazon.• Led the deployment of the company’s first four drop ship suppliers and the establishment of a drop ship supplier integration architecture to support future drop ship program growth. Numerous additional drop shippers were later added.• Led the evaluation, selection and implementation of Oracle Applications to replace the company’s original ERP systems. Used internal and external resources to achieve project implementation in four months, and in the process fully automated all ERP data integrations with internal systems. • Oversaw the evaluation, selection and deployment of Endeca for web site search and guided navigation. • Implemented an agile project methodology based on SCRUM to improve the efficiency of web site development projects.• Coordinated with the KB Toys corporate IT team and leveraged synergies between the online corporate teams.

Joined Brainplay.com as the company’s first Oracle DBA and database development resource, as it was being acquired by KB Toys as a wholly owned subsidiary with the intent to deploy a KB Toys e-commerce site and spin the subsidiary public.• Rapidly developed a team of database professionals and directed a critical conversion from Microsoft SQL to Oracle 7 in advance of a major national television advertising campaign planned for late September.• Led the database deployment of numerous functional enhancement projects for the web site.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Co-founded Vistyx Corporation, formerly Dallas Softworks, as a technical consulting firm focused on Oracle technologies. Balanced consulting and business management roles. • Key participant in the design and development of a retail automation application for the Army & Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) that was deployed at over seventy military bases in the continental US. Application modules included merchandise receiving, replenishment, store transfers, price changes and merchandise management. The application was developed using Oracle development tools and databases.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Primarily involved with a back office application development project at a large retail client. Application was developed using a 4GL development tool that was created by Coopers & Lybrand consultants and was deployed on IBM RS/6000 servers running Oracle 6 databases.
