I work on a variety of projects aimed at protecting, restoring, and managing our freshwater resources in the Chesapeake, Ohio, and Delaware River Watersheds. I help to manage various collaborative partnerships aimed at restoring and reconnecting rivers, improving stream resilience, managing dam releases for ecological flows, and reducing nutrient runoff.

• I was the Program Manager/Regional coordinator for the Natural Resource Condition Assessment program in which the current condition of park natural resources are quantitatively evaluated by interdisciplinary teams..
• I managed 15+ ongoing cooperative agreements and ensure compliance with agreement terms and deadlines. I also acted as a liaison between scientific cooperators, park staff, regional staff, and national program staff.
• I provided technical assistant to parks by performing data analysis and interpretation of water quality data, assessing water monitoring protocols and recommend improvements. I also provide technical assistance related.
• I provided scientific recommendations to the NPS representative on the Delaware River Basin Commission’s Water Quality Advisory Committee, and I served as the Regional Water Quality Representative on the Northeast.
• I served as the Northeast Regional scientific representative on the USGS/ NPS Water Quality Partnership Program proposal review board responsible for selecting >$800,000 of research projects nationwide.
• I initiated a partnership between New River Gorge National River and USGS Cooperative Research Unit to obtain funding ($148,637) and asses the risk of pesticide use on water quality and aquatic ecosystems.

• As the scientific adviser to the Delaware Riverkeeper, I summarized scientific information on a variety of ecological issues through white papers, factsheets, action alerts, talking points, annotated bibliographies.
• I reviewed and analyzed local, state, and federal actions including evaluations of draft reports, Environmental Impact Statements, permits, ordinances, and regulations.
• I researched scientific and policy information on a wide range of environmental issues including stormwater management BMPs, stream riparian buffers, green infrastructure, dredging practices and underwater acoustic.
• I organized and facilitated a scientific briefing for state legislators and staff to learn about riparian buffers and Senate Bill 1465, the Riparian Buffer Protection Act. I helped to edit the bill language and lobbied.

• I analyzed policy-relevant science and determined the impacts of results to regulatory program.
• I managed database of water chemistry from industrial and vessel discharges and used data to evaluated current industrial and vessel discharge treatment technologies.
• I presented research results for both internal and external parties through peer-review scientific articles, EPA technical reports, briefings, and professional conferences presentations.
• I helped manage permit records, drafted and edited responses to comment for the NPDES Vessels General Permit, and provided technical support associated with litigation proceedings.
