I am an experienced Board director, senior adviser and impact investment thought leader.In my Board career, I have held both NED and Investment Committee roles in a number or organisations, across superannuation and funds management, airports, electricity and gas networks, road and rail, healthcare, commercial/residential property development and not for profits (youth, health).I have held CEO and senior management roles with two of Australia’s largest Government supported impact funds, being the Clean Energy Financing Corporation (“CEFC”) and the Northern Australian Infrastructure Facility (“NAIF”). Staffing of 40+ (FTE) across a range of functions with offices in Cairns, Darwin, Townsville, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, with an opex budget of approximately $20m pa.I was brought in by the Board to lead and drive an enterprise wide change program across all facets of the business. A key focus was to reposition NAIF from being a conservative “infrastructure” lender to a pro-active development agency and financier working closely with stakeholders.Key Achievements: • Significant acceleration in NAIF’s investment activity, doubling its investment decisions from $1.6 Billion to $3.2 Billion (2019 to 2021), where it had only committed $1.6 Billion in the previous 4 years.• Secured a number of significant reforms to the NAIF Act and Mandate which was passed by Federal Parliament in May 2021.• Secured a significant increase in the 4 year forward looking opex budget for the organisation to support future growth.• Implemented a number of significant operational improvements across risk and compliance, financial reporting and people and culture practices.• Successfully navigated the business through the challenges arising from COVID.• Establishment of bi-partisan support across federal and state government departments and bodies, indigenous stakeholders, regional communities, councils and industry groups.• Supported a number of significant projects across the clean energy, resources, education, transport, agriculture and social infrastructure sectors. -
