Project: Mid-Coast Corridor Transit ProjectMr. Magallon served as an Office Engineer on the $2B Mid-Coast Corridor Transit project, an 11-mile extension to the existing San Diego Trolley system. Mr. Magallon’s responsibilities included preparation of monthly progress payment, development of change orders, response to RFIs and Submittals, prepare and update weekly and monthly reports. Project: Perris Valley LineMr. Magallon served as an Office Engineer on the $150M Perris Valley Line project, a 24-mile extension of the Metrolink 91 Line from Riverside to Perris, California. Project elements included two railroad bridge replacements, upgrade of existing siding tracks, and construction of new track and control points to provide future Metrolink passengers service between Perris and Riverside on the former Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) San Jacinto Industrial Spur. Mr. Magallon’s responsibilities included claim analysis, developing exhibits used in mediation and assisting with components of the settlement. Preparation of monthly progress payment, development of change orders, and response to RFIs, aided the Resident Engineer with project closeout activities including preparation of change orders, item adjustments, reports, project files review, and as-needed inspection. As an Office Engineer, Mr. Magallon gained a comprehensive understanding of proper documentation desired to contest a claim accurately.

Mr. Magallon served multiple roles in various Residential projects supporting his family business, which entailed developing custom homes and rehabilitating previously owned homes to list on the market. Mr. Magallon was responsible for creating architecture plans for homes per the City requirements, preparing quantity take-offs, managing and providing bi-weekly updates on budget status, schedule and coordinating with various trades to give direction to foreman, assisted with acquiring permits and ordering material and supplies. Performing multiple positions, Mr. Magallon gained a comprehensive understating of the process involved in constructing homes and the importance of proper documentation needed for closeout.

Project: Perris Valley LineMr. Magallon served as an Engineering Intern on the $150M Perris Valley Line project, a 24-mile extension of the Metrolink 91 Line from Riverside to Perris, California. Mr. Magallon’s responsibilities included reviewing Contractor as-built drawing submittals, documenting redlined changes in a set of plans, logging of submittals and RFIs, Notice of Potential Change and change orders; analyzing quantities for payments of change orders including quantity calculation and cost determination; reviewing time and material changes; preparing and reviewing Q-sheets; preparing field weld reports to verify conformance to quality records requirements; and attended weekly staff meeting. As an Engineering Intern, Mr. Magallon gained a strong grasp of the Caltrans filing system and developed the knowledge base needed in daily diaries through examining inspection reports for claim evaluation.

Mr. Magallon served as a Pick Up Framer for this construction materials and manufacturing company, where he coordinated daily with foremen to complete tasks to plans and specifications. In this role, he excelled in interpreting specifications in blueprints, sketches, and building plans as well as preparing project layout and determining the dimensions and materials required to perform residential construction. As a Pick-up framer, Mr. Magallon discovered the importance of coordination and proper stewardship to avoid safety accidents.
