Our own UK drive towards NetZero and greater use of renewable energy means that utilities can benefit from that experience to mitigate against the problems that an unreliable power supply will create not only for them but also for their customers.What's happening right nowThe problems on the low voltage side of the grid caused by the proliferation of EVs have now begun. In October 2020 for the first time EV registrations overtook diesel in the UK. In Norway where EV penetration is over 95% the 3-phase grid is facing voltage imbalance as it struggles with EVs recharging at home at peak times. Here we have single phase power supplies and herein lies a critical infrastructure problem for which Gupta Smart Energy and EMES have a solution right now. It's an exciting time for us!
