My journey started at McDonald's and I am very grateful I started my work experience there. This is where I learned about the different areas of instrumentation. - PLC Programming- Cyber Security- Control theory - System Integration - Analyzers and sensor- Process control - valve sizing Meanwhile during the summers I worked at Champion Concrete Cutting and Coring. Here I gained experience in the construction industry , I also gained the following skills. - Time management- Long working hours - Proper hand tool usage - maintaining and repairing equipment- Working alone - Working in a plant environment- Proper lifting techniquesAfterwards I continued my journey to Precise Downhole Solutions after I finished at NAIT. This is where I gained the following skills - Oil & Gas experience- Working with thermocouples, RTD's , Piezometers. Maintenance and testing - Setting up remote monitoring systems - Working with Datataker systems - Working with multiple services - Splicing soft leads onto thermocouples- Installing fittings and pressure testing equipment- Managing paperwork / filling field reports- Learning the process of a pump change Finally I moved into a position at Campbell Scientific Canada dealing with environmental monitoring system. This deals with the Road and weather information systems. I have gained the following skills. - Completing preventative maintenance on all stations- Configuring IP relays, cameras, modems and data loggers. - Troubleshooting station issues remotely - Installing new stations and conduit - Working outside - Working in a mine environment- Installing new sensors - Completing documentation I still have a long journey ahead of me and alot of learning to do. Open to new experience and opportunities!
