Hello, my name is Christopher Barnaby, and I am a Junior at Temple University, where I am currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I already partake in multiple clubs such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the National Society of Black Engineers, and the Temple Formula Racing. I was also named to the Dean’s List for the Fall Semester with a GPA of 3.83. At the end of my Sophomore year, I have a standing GPA of 3.23As a former student and graduate of The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, I was a member of the Engineering program(PLTW) and was named an Innovator on campus. I was involved in multiple varsity sports being the co-captain of the varsity basketball and varsity cross country teams, as well as being on the varsity track team. I pride myself on being in many clubs at Masters too. I was a member of Onyx, SCEEM(black mentorship), Gold Key, and the Dobbs Ferry Athletic Association.Outside of school, I currently work as an Office Assistant for Temple Residential Life. I also recently finished my internship at General Dynamics Electric Boats as an Engineering and Design intern. I resided on New York Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins’ Youth Advisory Council. I have prior working experience as an associate cashier for Bed Bath & Beyond. I was also a Brand Ambassador for The Basketball Empire an online basketball theme clothing apparel line. I have also done volunteer work being a co-founder of Friends4Frontlines. This was a program created by my two friends and I that would raise money through crowdsourced donations and buy lunches for nurses and doctors during the COVID-19 pandemic from local restaurants and delis to help ease the economic strains of the pandemic. In just over a year, we raised $24,465 buying lunches from 8 delis and local restaurants while delivering lunches to 5 local hospitals.
