• Seek new opportunities from customers for freight, searching low capacity areas and focusing on building/maintaining relationships especially after normal operating hours (weekends/nights).• Routinely quote new freight opportunities• Enter/schedule loads that have been awarded to us, communicate eta’s/appointments to shippers/receivers/customers• Manage daily load activities by talking with carriers, customers, suppliers and vendors ensuring that goods are picked up and delivered on time.• Negotiating rates for loads with customer and carrier.• Act as a liaison between the manufacturer/supplier, trucking carrier and receiver.• Locate carriers for shipments/find carriers that are consistent with our high volume lanes, build relationships in order to add them as primaries/regulars.• Ensure the carrier is contacted at least once daily during transport from pickup to delivery.• Work quickly to resolve issues that occur on shipments.• Build and maintain relationships with carriers/customers.• Ensure all proper documentation is completed and received.• Train/Mentor new LAET’s joining the team • Work with carriers and customers to resolve claim issues.
