After 18+ years of immersing myself in the world of large-scale spatial data integration, analysis, and storytelling through visual representation to guide and shape decisions I’ve established Environmental Geographic Management International (EGMI) Pty Ltd to offer specialist consulting services on environmental, geospatial and information knowledge management to clients in the mining industry and others where spatial information impacts decision making.I've worked within multidisciplinary teams across various stages of environmental, exploration and mining projects in South Africa, DRC, Central African Republic, Tanzania, and Malawi. From concept, to on the ground experience of construction and operations, my experience spans copper, coal, manganese, uranium, nickel, and PGMs.Working harmoniously in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams has been a cornerstone of my career and my competence across multiple disciplines has been enhanced as a result.I’ve combined my qualifications in environmental management with my skills in geographic information systems to integrate multi-disciplinary data and extract valuable information that informs project decisions relating to hydrogeology, surface water, geology, surveying, engineering, mine planning, and environmental and social impact and risk studies. I'm well-versed in numerous spatial hardware and software, incl. ESRI ArcMap, MapInfo Professional, QGIS.I’ve engage directly with board members, investors, regulators, and operations teams. My skills in tailoring spatial information to suit diverse communication and decision making needs has been crucial at the level of investor press releases all the way through to in- field decision-making.My career has been marked by innovative solutions, notably optimizing stockpile volume calculations at Kamoa Copper, reducing calculation times, improving accuracy, and bolstering confidence in surface infrastructure planning.
