Yeast Propagation Technician

Performed a 2 week rotation between lab, production, and packaging/shipping. Lab rotation involved lab scale propagations of yeast and bacteria, aseptic inoculations and step ups of prop media, culture media preparation, qc plating, and autoclave operations. Production rotation involved, wort production on a four vessel automated brewhouse, CIP/SIP operations, large scale inoculation, wort transfer, and maintenance of the brewery space. Packaging involved aseptic processing and packaging of yeast, sanitation of packaging equipment, aseptically preparing yeast blends and bacteria cultures, and maintaining inventory of excess product. Shipping/Receiving involved using Order Circle to process and ship product to customer, packaging product for customers, ensuring inventory of supplies and receiving supply shipments. Often times yeast propagation technicians were relied on to help multiple departments simultaneously.
