USNS Comfort Readiness Exercise (COMFEX) 16.4 - EXERCISE BOLD ALLIGATOR (Asynchronous). Studied, adapted, planned, and executed the Bold Alligator-2016 amphibious exercise as a one week simulation supporting battle forces afloat and ashore, in preparation for the ship's underway participation in the 2017 exercise. Drafted the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL). Led a team of 12 healthcare simulation personnel. Executed 5 personnel casualty drills over 3 days; presented 23 patient scenarios using 26 patient simulators, engaging 281 learners. One scenario required the casualty to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit over a 3 day period, allowing continuous monitoring and additional events for the same casualty, a first for the hospital ship.USNS Comfort Readiness Exercise (COMFEX) 17.2 - EXERCISE BOLD ALLIGATOR (Asynchronous). In preparation for Bold Alligator-2017 amphibious exercise, led a team of 3 healthcare simulation personnel, presenting 5 personnel casualty drills over 2 days including man overboard, abandon ship with casualties, infectious disease, chemical weapon contamination, rescue of multiple survivors from the water, and amphibious assault casualties. Presented 31 patient scenarios using eight human patient simulators, six task trainers, and 17 role players. Coordinated the use of the Search & Rescue (SAR) boat, helicopter support, and patient transportation boats. The Capstone event was a 25 patient Multiple Casualty Incident, the largest patient simulation drill that NMCP's Healthcare Simulation Center has ever attempted, keeping the medical personnel in role play for seven hours. Sufficient volume and severity was presented requiring the use of 3 of 12 operating rooms (2 more than standard exercises). Patient death was simulated with an emphasis on operational stress interventions with the staff to practice and teach leadership skills. These efforts supported learning for 420 Navy and Military Sealift Command personnel.

Trained teams annually to provide patient education, conduct screenings, gain written consent, administer inhaled and injected influenza vaccine, and document in the electronic medical records immunizations for Naval Station Rota, Maron Air Force Base, and NATO units in Madrid; Valencia; and Lisbon, Portugal.
