Contract Designer
CurrentResponsibilities include digital production file creation, graphics editing and manipulation, custom design, and interpretation. Create digital graphic files according to design concepts as conveyed by customers. Check customer provided files for print-readiness and advise on file prep. Identify potential file issues and installation concerns, to assure ease of installation and make appropriate recommendations for panel layout and labeling, need for excess overage or bleed, seams in film panels, and other potential challenges to achieving the end-customer’s vision. Creation of digital mockups and layered art files to be passed on to File Technicians for final production. Communicate design concerns and issues to account managers, provide appealing alternative solutions to secure project for distribution. Communicate with File Technicians on special project needs, deadlines, and specifications. Assist Customer Service team in meeting or exceeding established lead times for mockup turnarounds. Manage digital assets, maintaining organized server files for production projects for ease of understanding by management and production team. Collaborate and advise design team on growth in design theme requests, ease of working with production files, and potential issues in requests for customization of design concepts – to promote sales, reduce overhead costs in design file prep, and avoid potential reprints due to file flaws. Ensure file prep and design work fits within the estimated design budget or communicate excesses to Account Managers.
