12 years of increasing responsibility in the highest density track per mile passenger rail system in the US. Responsible for 4 of the largest key interlocking terminals, a tunnel and 3 movable bridges in NJ. Currently direct the repair, maintenance, construction, and testing of various signal devices. These include crossing gates, vital processor interlockings, positive train control systems, switch machines, relays/relay logic track circuits, cable splicing and terminating, wiring, interpreting schematics and various forms of troubleshooting. All design, maintenance, and testing must comply with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Regulations that have $500-$20K + 2yrs civil and criminal consequences to individuals for each system test.Inspector and Foreman• Contribute to long term project planning, including supervision planning and material allocation and procurement.-Lead $5M Hurricane Sandy control system renovation upgrade.-Directly manage and train 6 employees on daily activities, while working around 500 train schedules per day.-Adapt standardized designs to integrate with site-specific needs and evaluate test results.Lead Maintainer-Supervised and directed a team of 2 maintainers on FRA required monthly, quarterly, and yearly testing.-Inspected, tested, repaired, and installed signal facilities, equipment and associated systems including relays, locking and meggering of insulation wires and cables. -Led and signed-off on system tests to prove new signal additions prior to placing “in service” in NJ transit master controls. Relay Test-Man-Performed FRA required monthly, quarterly, and yearly testing on switch machines, crossings, moveable bridges, track circuits, frequency overlays, Standby power, cable insulation, relays, grounding networks, and route, traffic, signal, and indication lockings. Recordkeeping per required FRA & Federal Railroad Safety Administration (FRSA).-Rigorously tested 26KVAC to 24VDC ungrounded equipment installed or modified due to wiring changes or logic controller software changes. -Multiplexed up to 12 signals concurrently on a track with 26KV power for train. Calculated FRA dictated timing for gate controls to meet FRA Part 234 specifications.Signal Inspector-Constructed signal devices in accordance with carrier, FRA, and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.-Inspected interfacing for automatic route settings with relay logic and PLC controls.-Installed positive train control devices, wired relays to interface units, and performed functional tests of all output parameters.
