My time at AECOM has included a wide variety of civil engineering experience. My first 7 years were spent in the aviation engineering field. A wide range of project experience included pavement rehabilitation and construction, airfield lighting installation, grading and drainage system construction, land acquisition and fire fighting vehicle procurement. I was involved in all aspects of each project including design, construction administration and inspection, and supervision. My experience also covered a wide range of sizes - from several thousand to several million dollars - giving me the ability to consider a project from multiple perspectives.Subsequent to my initial experience, I was a lead civil engineer for projects in a wide range of industries including mining, coal and gas processing, and industrial process facilities. Projects were in both foreign and domestic locations.As a current full time student, I am currently a "casual employee" with AECOM, lending support to projects when availability and expertise align.

I am currently developing a collaborative modeling tool for the Russian River basin in Northern California. Agriculture in the basin is primarily focused on the production of wine grapes and relies on the Russian River tributary system for irrigation and frost protection. At the same time, environmental needs in the basin are characterized by the presence of three threatened and endangered fish species that rely on the tributary system for habitat during their various life stages. The tool couples a surface hydrologic model (HL-RDHM) with a GIS-based network flow model (Geo-MODSIM) to create a comprehensive model of the hydrologic system that considers both natural unimpaired streamflow as well as management effects in the basin. Through a collaborative process, the model will be applied to a tributary system in the basin and used to evaluate the effects of agricultural use as well as instream flow regulations in the basin. By considering the system as a whole and incorporating input from stakeholders, management solutions will be developed and evaluated with the goal of satisfying all the needs in the system.

I have worked as a graduate teaching assistant for 6 different classes at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Responsibilities included preparing and conducting laboratories for multiple sections of students. Topics taught include engineering computing and graphics, geotechnical engineering, numerical modeling and risk analysis, engineering optimization, computer-aided water management and geographic information systems in civil and environmental engineering.
