I have a true passion and love for cooking. I started young as a 14-year-old dishwasher at a local pub. My managers were great guys and truly made me love working in the foodservice industry. The teamwork that you experience in a fast-paced kitchen is something truly special and builds life long bonds. To this day, I am able to look up my former dishwashers and see that they too have turned to love our industry and are now line cooks and chefs themselves. That makes me very proud. In the corporate catering world, it's a little different than the restaurant business but I've also grown to love it. I love to do what I do. I love interacting with my guests/clients. I love it when they ask me for healthy options and why they are good for them. I love listening to them tell me about their lives and help them through food. Some people have a rough day and need french fries and a bacon cheeseburger. Others may have just had a physical and ask me what ingredients I have that help promote lowering their blood pressure. I've had clients that are on unexpectedly short deadlines and need their meetings catered as soon as possible. I love being there to help my client in anyways that I can. I'm not sure if my career will change directions in the future but as long as it involves cooking, I will be a happy man.
