The new web-enabled database will be used by the supply and engineering departments at the public shipyards to identify Navy preferred parts and MIL-SPECs for ship availabilities, thereby reducing the overall parts variation within the Fleet and saving over $3.3 billion.Provide project management support to the NAVSSES-Philadelphia Commonality Team (Code 945). Duties include regularly developing detailed project plans and schedules, milestone/ Gantt charts and presentations for Navy Flag and SES level audiences.Assist in reviewing lists of parts identified by the NAVSSES Commonality Team as Navy preferred parts to ensure that the ship systems, Allowance Parts List (APL) numbers, and National Item Identification Numbers (NIINs) are correct and up to date.Assist in developing and administering the supply contracts for the NAVSSES FFG Harvesting Program. Through the recycling and reuse of decommissioned FFG parts, the Harvesting Program has helped the Navy save $80 million in FY13. Show less
