Manage an EPA Wetland Program Development grant project that assesses the vulnerability of NYC salt marshes to loss due to sea level rise and other factors. Collaborate with the Natural Areas Conservancy (NAC) and the Nature Conservancy (TNC) to collect and analyze data on the conditions of NYC salt marshes. Work with TNC to develop a model that assess the vulnerability of these marshes and use that information to inform management.

Assessment of the ecology of NYC Parks Department owned salt marshes including percent cover of vegetation, shear vane strength of soil, surface elevation table (SET) measurements, and feldspar sediment marker horizon readings. Also assessed restoration opportunities in these salt marshes and surrounding area by pinpointing areas of concern into a GPS unit and creating polygons of the impacted areas using GIS mapping tools.
