I entered the Marine Corps out of college and honed skills in leadership, organization, critical thinking, crisis management, and risk assessment. And then I took on several government jobs after that resulting in a great civil service career. I began working with the Boston Police Department as a Police Officer and then took on many roles-Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander - Anti-Corruption Division, Staff Instructor, Boston Police Academy, Commander, Detective Unit, Bureau of Investigative Services / Commander, Crime Scene Response Unit, and Captain / Commander, Court Unit, Office of the Police Commissioner. As a result, I have the ability to make decisions, overcome obstacles and find solutions, which in my line of work is important. I can manage people and assets to achieve goals and promote policy. A few accomplishments I'm proud of include: • Strengthened organizational structure by rewriting Department policies for court procedures and for paid detail assignments at Boston Police Department. • Increased efficiency by amplifying staffing 33 % in the Crime Scene Response Unit by enforcing a settlement agreement previously not included. • Reduced risk exposure by designing and writing a course on Police Ethics for all Boston Police Department recruits. • Improved transparency by implementing a tracking system allowing supervisors to track cases and attendance at court. • Awards: ◦ Democratic National Convention Award ◦ Mayor's Award of Excellence ◦ Department Medal of Honor ◦ Award of Merit, Academic Achievement I am an honest and positive person with a great work ethic.
