I worked in the luxury collision center and assisted customers with repairs on their vehicles. I was also responsible for performing vehicle estimation, insurance negotiations, and repair coordination with body men.

I taught introductory geology 1200 lab and was responsible for 3 classes of around 40 students in each per semester. I insured that students understood the material and assisted those who were struggling to be successful in class. I am so honored and happy I had the chance to educate my students and to provide advice and potential solutions to problems they were challenged with outside the classroom, it was a wonderful experience and I truly enjoyed introducing a new group to geology and learning about each student individually. During this time I also organized and headed a group of commercial pilots in an effort against the FAA to convince them to honor their rule change and grant 1st and 2nd class medical certificates to insulin treated diabetic pilots, I am extremely proud to say that, through our efforts as a unified team we were successful and there are now over 50 insulin treated diabetic pilots flying for major US commercial airlines!

I worked in fleet service and was responsible for loading and unloading baggage and cargo from aircraft. I also was responsible for cargo management and aircraft weight and balance. I am proud to say that after only 3 months of working on the ramp I was offered a position working in the ramp tower guiding and coordinating aircraft to their appropriate gates. I was honored by this offer however declined due to the hours conflicting with my college class schedule.

I worked in flight operations under the chief pilot and performed daily required operational tasks to insure safe and efficient transport of passengers and cargo originating out of KCLT and KIAD bases. I worked primarily under the US Airways code-share flag however had some operational experience with United Express out of KORD and briefly Delta Connection operating out of KJFK. I performed a vast number of different functions at Mesa, everything from Pilot recruitment, FAA documentation compliance, to Maintenance/Storage repo flights. My time and career at Mesa was wonderful, one of the lasting impacts the chief pilot, myself and our team had was to work with other code-share/wholly owned subsidiary regional carriers to develop and implement a procedure for OPD's (Optimized Profile Descents). These approaches revolutionized air traffic flow, improving efficiency, passenger comfort and most importantly conserving precious fuel that would be normally expended during standard "Step-down" approaches. The cost savings and positive impact toward the environment are a lasting legacy we can all be proud of.
