I remember to this day, my history teacher Mr. Woods during my junior year telling my parents and me at a parent-teacher conference, “Chris is doing well in class, but he is always talking about sports; for my class he needs to re-focus, but he better set out for a career in sports.” My parents agreed and pushed me towards this path, but being a defiant eighteen year old; I started my college career as a motion picture major. After walking-on as a University of Miami football player, I switched to a sports management major because I finally realized what Mr. Woods and my parents were trying to help me understand. I felt more comfortable in the sports world than in Hollywood. After starting my studies in sports, I have fully embraced being a sports "nerd," but not in the sense of tracking statistics. When I attend a sporting event, I find myself observing the entire operation. From seating alignment, sponsorship placements, positioning of vendors, presentation, how the uniforms look, when ushers are released, traffic flow, and many other factors. While I love the outcome of a game, match, or race, I am there for the full experience. One of my favorite moments was coaching 6th grade basketball. I wanted to do something special for the players because of the hard work they consistently brought everyday. During one assembly, I encouraged the entire school to come watch the final game. I did this through enlisting volunteer help from a group of seniors, marketing the game similar to David Letterman’s top ten lists, and the use of Chick-fil-A giveaways. Guess what; It worked. The students packed the gym and it made my year looking at the massive smiles across each kid’s face during the pregame huddle, knowing how much this meant to them.To me, the presentation and care of an event mean just as much at the youth level, as it does at the professional. My goal for my career is to be at the top of the athletic industry leading a department to be its best self.

Supporting our Athletic Director as we open a new gym and fitness center, and develop new programs for the space.During COVID-19, developed a competitive program for our varsity teams over the spring 2020 season that was all virtual and spanned 7 weeks. For the 2020-21 school year as we remain remote and hybrid, follow our Athletic Director's lead in the focus of our mission to create new ways of keeping teams together. Athletic DirectorHoly Trinity School Aug 2015 - Jun 2019Washington D.C. Metro AreaOrganize the four sports Holy Trinity School offers for grades 1st - 8th. The program includes cross country with over 50 participants in the fall; a basketball program that has fifteen teams; track and field with 40 participants; and four softball teams. With no field space and a small gym, I am responsible for finding practice space for every team. The position requires to update rosters consistently throughout the season. By doing this, I was able to double the amount of pay for play fees collected from the previous year before I started of $15,000. Responsible for hiring coaches for all four sports, renting gym space, and purchasing new equipment and uniforms. Took on the task of creating a team store for the athletic program that helped raise over $1,500 the first year in operation. Designed a new logo and rebranded the department to implement the logo into all athletic apparel, uniforms, and paraphernalia. Reworked the end of the year awards banquet to feature all teams, created two awards for each team, and handed out a giveaway for all participants that school year. I also implemented a new system for uniform and equipment inventory that was able to collect uniforms that were passed out during the current year and return uniforms from years past.

Physical Education TeacherHoly Trinity School Aug 2015 - Jun 2019Washington D.C. Metro AreaTaught all sections of the physical education department, in grades 3rd - 8th. In my first year, classes had a focus on long distance running and body weight lifting. We would teach units for two to three weeks while working on running at the beginning of each class. Every month the students would test their mile times. The second year reworked the program to be core focused and building a foundation for the students athletic future. Every class starts with dynamic stretching. As a department we decided to focus longer on each sports, splitting each class into four teams for the entire unit. The team must work together in different drills and games to earn points for their team throughout the entirety of the unit. Work with two other teachers and have to create lesson plans and implement them together. Reworked the department to meet every month our second year, instead of emailing plans each week. Now have plans a month in advance instead of just five days.
