After years of working in IT, through various odd jobs, I returned to college to complete a bachelors degree in Computer Science. Since my career change I have found a love for teaching my passion to others, helping my community any way I can, and enjoying the work I have done in my career. I am proud to be the co-founder of a nonprofit in Vancouver, WA where we provide free education to children and educate them about computer science and other STEM and coding related subjects. My other co-founders, Tyler Bounds, Meagan Hight, Jeff Honsowetz, and the other volunteers that stood beside me while we turned a gathering of kids into an educational organization, they are the people that encourage me to keep working to do better for education in our community.Please note, my employment has been fairly unhindered since 2002, however I only put a few of the more relevant job decisions on my LinkedIn. I take a $0 salary in an effort to just do what is right for the community and help children get the education boost that they deserve. I’m proud to be a volunteer in my own organization and to work with all the great people who have joined me in my mission.Future of Code was founded to offer a free and comfortable environment for kids to come and learn computer science and other STEM related subjects. We see the world changing and feel that knowing how to code is going to become more important for many different career fields in the future. We want all kids to have an opportunity to learn how to code in an environment that is welcoming to all, taught by people who are just as diverse as they are. We started as a small club getting together with an average of ten kids a week and have blossomed into a set of clubs and classes offered around Vancouver. We work with other companies and organizations in our area to keep costs low so that a majority of each dollar earned through fundraising goes towards helping students. We work with great volunteers ranging from young high school students, to college students, up to industry professionals in fields like computer science, electrical engineering, and IT. Future of Code would be nothing without these amazing volunteers and we value them and their input as they help mold a new generation of children into amazing adults! -
Data EngineerInterject Data Systems Jul 2017 - May 2023Vancouver, WaI was hired at Interject to join on site service at HP, Inc to work in research and development on the Jet Fusion 3D Color Printer project. While working on the color printer project I was assigned to a health system attachment that was built onto the test printers. During this time I was working with data collected from Flir image capture, profilometer capture, and live image capture systems. I developed systems to collect and analyze the data in an effort to provide engineers with a quick and effective view of their print jobs. Near the end of the Color project I was moved into assisting with print part quality data collection from lab testing. Upon the downsizing of the color printer project I have been moved to remotely support the Corvallis HP location with both the plastics printing and metal printing projects. Currently I am working on developing both part quality data collection systems from the lab as well as data systems to collect and visualize telemetry data from print systems. My other projects with Interject have been limited to a small set of clients where I provide limited support hours with both development and consulting.
