I am a Senior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a collateral in Supply Chain Management. From and early age, my curiosity drove me to explore the 'why' and 'how' behind the world around me. As I grew, that curiosity would also acquire asking 'what' - specifically, what can I contribute, and how can I excel in doing so? this mindset has fueled my success in academics, athletics, work, and Boy Scouts. Throughout high school, I developed communication skills through athletics, where I had the opportunity to mentor young players, helping them grow as athletes and individuals. As an upperclassmen, I was given more leadership responsibilities, which deepened my ability to guide other effectively. My leadership abilities were further tested when I was elected Senior Patrol Leader of my Boy Scout troop, where I led by example and motivated my peers. During this time, I further developed those communication and leadership skills as well as developing organization and motivational skills. I also applied those Leadership Skills for my Eagle Scout Project where I built benches for a local nature park. This time was a culmination of all these skills, as it required managing resources, coordinating a team, and ensuring the projects timely completion. My career goal after college is to work in sales and have the privilege of putting customers needs first and developing lifelong relationships and skills that will benefit my company and their customers. Taking Sales and Supply Chain classes, I have learned important skills like punctuality, building rapport, operations, time management, staying on top of your company internally and externally, etc. that will help me become successful in business and life. I would like my peers to think of me as a reliable worker who they can always depend on which would influence them and others around me to work just as hard, creating a healthy and enthusiastic work environment. Acquiring these skills, I know this is what makes me equipped to conquer any task head on and be successful in a business.
