CurrentDuties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:Sworn as a Federal Police Officer after the completion 2 Academies over 7 months of specialized training. Currently given the honor to protect and secure Congress, daily duties include but are not limited to the following:Traffic Interdiction Monitoring Program (TIMPS)Force Protection/counter terrorism unit focused on mitigating the threat of Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED) to Capitol Grounds.Monitors and interdicts oversized commercial and/or suspicious vehicles from entering US Capitol Grounds.Collaborates with investigative units following commercial vehicle interdiction and suspicious vehicle stops.Coordinates with K-9 units and USCP Command in diverting and escorting authorized vehicles through Capitol Grounds.First Responders Unit Force protection/counter terrorism unit providing tactical security of the U.S Capitol Building.Counter-surveillance focused on force protection and suspicious activity.Coordinate with K-9 units to provide secure vehicular access control to the Capitol Complex. Escorts and Protection Details Protect and Secure the dignitary and political figures upon their ingress and egress of capitol grounds and buildings.Working alongside other federal agencies to ensure mission success and the safety of each dignitary and political arrival and departure. Assessing and making proper adjustments to paths of travel and alternative options in case of an emergency. Security and Anti-Terrorism Emergency Response Team - walking foot patrol through the interior and exterior of the capitol ground and buildings. Always ready to take police action and to assist the public with anything that may arise. Security Screening – Ensuring a sterile environment by properly conducting screening on individuals and Vehicles entering the Congressional Buildings and Grounds.
