Life tastes best when you eat what you kill. Does anybody read James Altucher? If you're in business, I highly suggest you do. This entrepreneurial phrase (one of many) that James describes in his blog insinuates an important concept for business persons and humans in general. If the profitability of your business relies on your personal efforts and strategies, you are an entrepreneur. A hunter. An entrepreneur consistently seeks new ideas to facilitate growth. If he's not moving forward, he's moving backward. He lives off of his success, and painfully hungers after a mistake. This type of reliance creates a no-joke personality that can only be described properly by comparing it to someone who lives on fresh meat. Having worked as an hourly paid employee for many years of my life, I can attest to the stark dividing contrast between an entrepreneurial mindset and a pre-established path seeking mindset. The world is full of preset courses and corresponding advocates, saying: "Do you want success? Try this!" Life has a taste now that I own my successes. I don't rely on someone else's beaten path to take me to a general 'success!' And I don't regret passing up opportunities that would clearly come to fruition quickly; in general, the long term plan is the better plan. I can go on about success and how I'll one day be a millionaire-type attitude, but I think you'd find it just as boring as I would. Let's mention failure. I'm sure everyone knows that you drive on your best behavior when your registration sticker is expired. Similarly, I work my hardest now that I walk a tightrope. Commission will do that to you. Think capitalism in a nutshell. Think work-to-eat. Except you're not happy with just eating. You aren't satiated until you've stockpiled a meat cellar. And suddenly, suddenly you're alive. But not so delirious from hunger that you don't think to breed what you eat. New ideas are the crux of progress. The lack of them are the beginning of death.
