I am a research chemist with 20 years of experience working in commercial laboratories developing new technology; a critical thinker and problem solver who is comfortable working individually and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and good organisational skills. I have extensive experience of skilled practical laboratory work, planning and executing experiments, maintaining detailed notes and records of experiments, analysing results and reporting/presenting results to customers and colleagues. Having plenty of experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with some VBA for macros knowledge, I also have experience using JMP statistical software. I have a working knowledge of Python and am working on augmenting this towards data analytics. I am actively pursuing the idea of a career switch to data science.I have also used various proprietary programs for running specific lab equipment and manipulating the associated data.Hands on laboratory experience includes inorganic/organometallic/organic synthesis with a high degree of experience using air sensitive materials (Schlenk line, glovebox, Swagelok); surface modification of nanoparticels for customisation of material properties and formulation into inks for coating; integration of coatable nanoparticles into device structures for testing material properties and prototyping device (e.g. photodiode, PV) architecture (spin coating/thermal evaporation/ALD).I have some experience of leading projects and directing, supervising and training more junior team members. I have completed ILM level 3 leadership training.
