Current• Conducted research on a task force dedicated to surveying the illicit fentanyl ecosystem, employing modeling and analysis to help government agencies combat the opioid epidemic.• Identified and analyzed government and open-source data – including High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas, the National Forensics Laboratory Information System, and National Science Foundation grants – to understand the illicit synthesis, production, and distribution of fentanyl, with the goal of disrupting illicit supply networks and countering Transnational Organized Crime.• Leveraged datasets to analyze and aggregate chemical spectroscopy tests of fentanyl seizures, creating a library of fentanyl precursor analogues and isomers to support government and industry partners with interdiction and compliance efforts, and briefed findings to senior leadership. • Provided written assessments and data driven products to senior leadership at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy, and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).• Analysis of illicit fentanyl production and supply prompted a $4.2 million contract with the Department of Homeland Security to develop an interactive model of the fentanyl ecosystem for law enforcement agencies to leverage.
