I've been a lot of things in my life. In my youth, I worked repairing and restoring photo enlargers. I've installed replacement doors, windows and vinyl siding. I've worked as a turf equipment technician (golf course and lawn equipment mechanic) for several high-end private golf courses in central Ohio. I eventually settled into a management role at several major automotive retailers, first in the retail side then as a commercial sales manager.I decided to return to college in the fall of 2017 with the goal of changing careers and started classes in January, 2018, at Southern New Hampshire University pursuing a degree in Game Programming and Development with a minor in Project Management. I excelled in my studies, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while also working 55+ hours a week running a NAPA location for a large independent jobber.I finished my degree program in June, 2021, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Since that time, I have decided to leave retail management to begin development of two indie game projects. The first is a simple 3D FPS using pixel art textures with the goal of launching in the summer of 2022 on itch.io and Steam. The second is a more ambitious 2D project using hand-drawn art and levels that will take more time and resources to complete. I have a fall 2023 goal for the launch of that project.In the meantime, I would be interested in picking up experience with established development studios on their projects and/or joining with others on their indie projects while continuing the development of my skill set in Unreal Engine 4, Unity, C#/C++ programming, and asset creation in Blender, GIMP and other design software and workflows. I have a passion for game play systems and level design and will be adding to my body of work over the next several years.
