Chris’ first real career opportunity came from working for an insurance company as a cold call sales agent. His talents were soon recognised after just over a year where he got promoted to customer retention agent. He then consistently gained skills allowing him to progress to Coach and Assistant Manager for the retention team then Outbound Sales Team Leader. During this time he was constantly a top performing employee. His product and company knowledge then gained him a further promotion to Data and Product Analyst this job only growing his skill set further. Redundancy led him to taking a 1 year sabbatical where he decided he wanted to do a more practical job which led him to becoming a roofer. His maths skills, eye for detail and quick learning ability saw him become a core member of staff for South Devon Roofing as well as working on his own projects as a sole trader. After reconnecting with peers in similar trades he decided to help co-found the renewables arm of Dark Electrical Services which would specialise in renewable energy technology installation and design. This makes use of every skill he has from both the insurance company and his experience as a roofer. Currently the Renewables arm has gained its MCS accreditation through Napit. Chris was instrumental in achieving this ensuring the office was in order streamlining every process from enquiry lines to quoting to handover and even gaining necessary insurances. He now has extensive knowledge of MCS requirements, how to size PV systems correctly, using PV Sol software to run simulations and how to do all associated heat loss and sizing for Biomass and Air Source Heat Pumps. He is reliable, progressive and ensures quality and transparency are at the heart of whatever work he does.
