Working in the furniture department, I was responsible to provide CAD presentations in order to secure sales orders. This also involved working with shopfitters & building services trades, drawing plans, designing bespoke product (receptions / boardroom / conference tables), producing working design solutions, presentations from the plotter, powerpoint & 3D animation walkthrough video. Some national accounts. Major use of AutoCAD, 3dsMax. Some furniture catalogue production using QuarkXPress and Photoshop.

Sandbach

Helped launch a new Northern Herman Miller dealership to service two national accounts.Provision of plans and sales presentations. (I was the only CAD Designer), undertaking lots of site surveys, storage audits including Court rooms, Judges chambers and open offices. Projects ranged from corporate headquarters to car dealerships. Some spaceplanning to organisational structures (test fitting client numbers into proposed lease sites). Providing help to facilities managers. Major use of AutoCAD, MillerCAD, 3dsMax.

Manchester

Working in a small design department providing a CAD spaceplanning service (spaceplanning means drawing a building outline and arranging the walls & furniture) to both clients with installed base & targeting new clients with plans, sales documents & video. Working with the sales team & specifying Herman Miller products including designer ranges of furniture, lighting, flooring, soft seating, storage, desking, operator seating, bulk storage, racking etc.Major use of AutoCAD, MillerCAD, 3dsMax, CorelDRAW & PhotoPAINT.

Hale

Working for a small family business & being the only CAD designer, I designed and CAD planned office interiors and corporate high profile areas (boardrooms / receptions / break out areas / conference rooms). Working with a range of joiners & manufacturers, to obtain costs for bespoke furniture items (including storagewall – bespoke storage that acts as a full height partition).Major use of AutoCAD, 3dsMax, CorelDRAW & PhotoPAINT.

Stalybridge

Working in a small design department, on a wide range of shop interiors, point of sale units / retail displays for a large manufacturer (The Stamford Group). Incorporating displays into a wide range of retail interiors. Producing detailed industrial design drawings and specifications of shopfitting products. Working with industrial designers, measuring existing product and providing CAD digital drawings (to replace hand drawn or where no drawings existed). Providing manufacturing drawings for small fabrications, extrusions, medical storage equipment and showcases. Minor revisions to some plastic products. Introduced AutoCAD (and later Pro/ENGINEER) increasing productivity.

Winsford

Meeting corporate premises managers and contractors. Producing interior designs and presentations to client corporate manual guidelines. Using AutoCAD to provide plans, showing sales product (displays and furniture). Controlling two blue chip national accounts. Working closely with shopfitters, typically new shop fronts, fascias and interiors.

Bowdon

Working for a display manufacturer, draughting plans on a drawing board, input into corporate design schemes (rebranding) for large corporate clients with small team of graphic & interior designers. Specification of display systems, graphics, furniture, storage, and interior finishes. Winning projects by producing hand drawn plans, presentations & perspective visuals.
