Firefighter/Advanced Emt
Current• Responds to emergency incidents including accidents, fires, and medical calls. Provides fire control/suppression duties, which always requires attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.• Provides direct care to patients of all ages and backgrounds, including but not limited to; vitals, IV initiation/removal, phlebotomy-related procedures, and overall patient safety during initial contact and transport.• Obtains information regarding the emergency from dispatch, and communicates other emergency services as needed during the call(s). In the absence of, or as directed by more qualified personnel, communicates with receiving hospitals regarding patient status and next steps. Must follow FCC with regard to communications by radio.• Maintains working knowledge of hydraulics, water supplies, pumping apparatus, fire codes, etc. Also maintains apparatus and fire station equipment, structures and fire station grounds within functional area and zone.• Attends continuing education training to acquire proper and updated healthcare methods, regulation updates, procedures, and techniques. • Responsible for precepting new recruits that enter the station/department as directed.• Performs administrative duties within the department such as patient encounter documentation, detailed breakdown of calls and occurrences, answering phones, and all other non-clinical duties required by leadership.
