As a Project Engineer I am involved in the Front End Engineering and Design of several investment projects from their concept through definition to implementation planning and procurement.During the implementation and commissioning phase of the project I am responsible for the execution of site works directly field supervising contractors ensuring that EDF Energy Generation process, procedures and site safety rules are adhered too.From the Front end engineering and design to the installation and commissioning my duties as a project engineer are as follows:Working closely with design engineers to review design documentation & assist with plant surveys.Creation of the budget price requests to contract working parties. Creation of method statements, risk assessments, reviewing quality plans and other critical documentationMaterial and Equipment procurement to Nuclear standards and ASME certificationSub-contractor co-ordinationLeadership and management of project meetings with key stakeholdersProject progress reportingReview similar lessons learned and adopt 'world best practice' to achieve success in project delivery.Co-ordinate contractors for per project site surveys and quotations based on planned scopeResponsible for the management of all aspects associated with creation of work packs, creation of project schedule, sub-contractor management and material procurement. Reviewing of safety critical isolations on each reactor to provide safety from the systemCo-ordination of contractors, Leading project plan review meetings and updating / benchmarking project schedule against the baseline plan to ensure key milestones are met.Reviewing commissioning test schedule procedures, carrying out commissioning & Testing and fault finding on new and existing plant systems and controls.Safety rules Clearance on successful commissioning, handover to stake holder and project close out.

Torness Power Station

My time within the maintenance department at Torness Power Station started with a 4 year apprenticeship as an Electrical Technician, during this time I gained valuable knowledge on plant systems and maintenance activities whilst gaining a HND in electrical engineering.On completion of my apprenticeship I have worked on a wide variety of plant systems gaining further knowledge on plant systems and carrying out maintenance duties from preventative to routine maintenance, fault finding, electrical installations, fault finding, testing & commissioning and routine maintenance activities involved with major planned outages.During my maintenance career I gained further training in both mechanical & C&I disciplines allowing me to become cross skilled and to carry out maintenance activities within these disciplines.
