Christopher Stoll is a senior planner, project manager, and GIS manager for the AECOM, Hawaii-Guam Area. Mr. Stoll has over 15 years of experience in GIS, master planning, military planning, environmental planning, and the implementation technology-based solutions. Chris has worked in the Honolulu office for 10 years doing projects around the State and overseas, including projects in Guam, CNMI, and Japan. Chris is the Project Manager for the Hawaii-DLNR, Statewide General Flood Control Plan (SGFCP) website and GIS map portal project. Chris works with a wide variety of A&E Industry professionals including; planners, engineers, architects, designers, landscape architects, geologists, and a wide variety of environmental professionals, often serving as a conduit for sharing and managing projects and data.Chris's technical experience in GIS includes specialized work in; database development and GIS data management, raster and vector modeling, advanced cartography with GIS, Geodatabase development, 3D modeling/visualization, and planning and decision support utilizing GIS. His technical abilities include excellent presentation and communication skills as well as advanced cartography and graphic design skills. He is proficient in the full ESRI suite of products with strong skills in the use of ArcGIS in graphical design. Mr. Stoll is also certified in the use of Trimble GPS. Other software skill sets include, Image Processing Software, AutoCAD software, Google Earth/Sketch-Up, and the full suite of Adobe and Microsoft products. Mr. Stoll has degrees in English, Urban & Regional Planning, and in the Environmental Sciences, providing him with a multi-disciplinary understanding and approach to working with complex systems in the social/political realm, manmade environments and natural worlds.

This million-dollar project was funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection - Office of Greenways and Trails, and was led by the University of Florida, Department of Landscape Architecture. The three-year project developed a comprehensive management plan for the Cross Florida Greenway (CFG) utilizing the latest in GIS and other advanced technologies. The plan included the development of guidelines and strategies for the management of the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway including, recreation, interpretation, and general land management and a user-friendly interface to be used by CFG managers and planners (INTRANET) as well as a custom mobile-GIS/GPS management plan using ESRI’s ArcPad software.

The Geo-Facilities Planning and Information Research Center, or GeoPlan Center, was established in 1984 as a response to local and statewide needs for a teaching and research environment in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The Center is affiliated with the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, in the University of Florida's College of Design, Construction and Planning.
