Headed a subcommittee for the Superintendent's Recruitment and Retention Committee (I personally wrote and presented a report on findings to the school board). Strategy Game Club Facilitator. Guest Service Member
Data Specialist & Newsletter Editor
Data Specialist – Responsible for data cleansing, ensuring that all advertising data from multiple business units across the country fed into a single centralized database called Microsoft Dynamics AX and ensuring that this data all met strict naming and address standards. This job required using the internet to quickly and effectively search out and locate accurate information and enter it into a database. This position required excellent time management skills to meet regular project deadlines as well as sound individual judgment. In addition it was necessary to review new advertising accounts entered into AX each day and to correct any format mistakes or system import errors and to ensure that all data conformed to a single set of standards. This position involved extensive daily work with spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel as well as working within multiple databases and using the internet for research.Newsletter Editor – During the first months of my employment I was asked by my Head Supervisor to produce a monthly office newsletter by myself. This newsletter included both regular features such as a list of new hires and employee birthdays in addition to multiple articles each month that, in almost all cases, I wrote personally. In many cases writing these articles involved a face to face interview with different individuals including department heads. I designed this newsletter from scratch using Microsoft Publisher and had great leeway in its graphical presentation and regular content. For the monthly content I coordinated with my Head Supervisor to come up with ideas for upcoming articles. The first issue went out in December of 2010 and the last issue went out in February 2012. I received commendation for my work on this newsletter and for putting together a new issue each month and meeting the required deadlines.
Sports Agate & Writer (Intern)
Sports Agate – Took calls from area high school games and obtained the necessary information to write a box score and a brief description of the game’s highlights including stats for individual players and any team highlights. In this role, I was responsible for contacting the coaches to conduct interviews and obtain information about the team or additional game information. This role required the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, communicate clearly and politely to the coaches and meet regular deadlines.Sports Writer – Took on various story assignments that required interviewing multiple sources and writing articles within set time frame to meet a strict deadline. All of my stories were published in the Denton Record Chronicle during my semester-long internship.
