Prior to joining the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG), I started my professional journey at the Manpower Research and Statistics Department within the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore. Working for the Singapore government broadened my understanding of the challenges faced by governments globally and heightened my appreciation for our effective systems. This ignited my enthusiasm for collaborating with governmental entities to develop the competencies needed in today's rapidly evolving environment.In my role as a Business Operations and Research Manager at CIG, I am responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including managing HR issues, overseeing vendor relationships, handling procurement procedures, and coordinating office operations. I also make sure that our IT systems are effective and trustworthy. Additionally, I conduct quantitative research and create metrics and dashboards related to governance, continuously enhancing and updating CIG's knowledge resources such as the Chandler Good Government Index. My dedication to data still influences my job, enabling me to provide valuable insights that assist our leadership in managing governance obstacles.Having served as a senior officer in the military for more than a decade, I offer a structured, analytical mindset to problem-solving due to my extensive experience in planning and organization. I am constantly excited to tackle fresh challenges, particularly in statistics, data trends, and technology, in order to expand my understanding and enhance my skills even further.I also have a strong interest in food, specialty coffee, and e-sports. In my leisure time, I like to try new coffee and bond with my wife and three sons.
