Mt Albert Primary School caters for their local community brilliantly. They bring new life to the term “learners at the centre”. Ākonga are able to flourish and reach their potential through our local curriculum and current pedagogical practices. It is an exciting work place, and I am enjoying being a part of a high performing leadership team, operating with integrity.

Harrisdale PS is an innovative and leading school. We have the opportunity to trial new teaching pedagogy whilst refining the experience we bring from other backgrounds. As a Teacher Development School we showcase our philosophy of teaching in an open door setting allowing other educators to observe our Practice and gain new understandings. It is within this new environment I am currently teaching and learning. Being a part of many teams I plan collaboratively to better the outcomes for all students and Harrisdale PS.

Within this role, I continued to help students in reaching their full potential and becoming life long learners. I have enjoyed gaining experience in a new curriculum, adopting current Australian practices whilst maintaining the skills I bring from New Zealand schools.

I had been a part of teaching staff at Halsey Drive School for the past 4 years. Along with helping students to reach their full potential and become life long learners I had developed a passion for developing curriculum and educational leadership.For two years I have been involved in the lynfield Community of Learning (Kahui Ako) as a Within School Leader. This allowed me to lead an inquiry across the community to develop the educational outcomes of at risk and target students. The role has been very rewarding and my knowledge of policy, curriculum, and leadership has grown exponentially.I have also held units of responsibility as the Sports and P.E coordinator and Head of curriculum - Te Ao Maori
