Mr. Darrow has practiced law for over 30 years, most recently with one of the largest law firms in the world, Greenberg Traurig, as part of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group and it's Litigation Group. He retired from that firm and is now in private practice.Mr. Darrow is a registered patent attorney, focusing his practice on intellectual property law. Mr. Darrow acts as a company’s General Counsel of Intellectual Property, managing its portfolios of patents, trademarks and copyrights. This is beneficial to companies that do not have extensive in-house legal departments.He assists clients in protecting and developing their intellectual property assets within the context of their business goals. He provides counsel on technology development, licensing, contract negotiations, and litigation of patent and trademark cases in jury and non-jury trials in Federal and California courts as well as before appellate courts. His technology experience includes mechanical devices and systems, chemical processes, medical and orthopedic devices, software systems, optics, solar energy, electronic components, aerospace systems, security devices and others. His office files patent and trademark applications worldwide.Prior to attending law school, Mr. Darrow earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and worked as an aerospace engineer on an Anti-Missile Missile System.After graduating from law school, Mr. Darrow joined the Intellectual Property boutique of Poms, Smith, Lande & Rose. He was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. That firm merged with Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly, which had offices in the U. S. and Europe. He was the managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office for several years. In April 2002, Mr. Darrow left OWD to open the Intellectual Property practice at GT’s Los Angeles office. One thing that Mr. Darrow always kept in mind was that clients were business people who needed a business-like approach to the practice of law and value for the money they were spending on attorneys. Because he is no longer with a large firm having significant overhead, he is able to offer more value while giving his clients the same level of experience and expertise. His clients followed him to enjoy all of these benefits.
